The Heart of Hospitality
Nino Giaimo is Greensboro’s native son on the run. Sometimes it’s running between his restaurant or hotel and other times it’s a run for exercise.
When he’s one place for a while, it’s probably GIA, Greensboro’s most visible speak-easy.
“Starting GIA was really a passion for me,” Nino said. “I wanted to create a restaurant in Greensboro that showcased culinary talent, encouraging guests to try multiple dishes and unique cocktail offerings through our ever-changing monthly menu.”
Nino wasn’t always in a kitchen. After graduating from East Carolina University with an MBA, he had his sights set on a career in biotech. Best laid plans aside, he started working instead in hotels and the hospitality bug struck.
Now Nino’s a huge proponent of Greensboro’s style of living. One of the city’s greatest perks is the collaborative spirit.
“Greensboro is a very supportive community, someone is always willing to lend a helping hand. That’s different from most places.”
