Eden

In the quaint city of Eden, families will find great schools, a low cost of living, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of outdoor activities. With natural scenery, agricultural tours and historical sites, there’s plenty to enjoy in Eden. The city boasts many acres of farmland including Tuttle’s Farm, Hills and Hollows Farm and more – where you can go berry picking, see llamas up close or buy fresh jam. Sample the region’s best wines at Autumn Creek Vineyards, see a drive-in movie, or attend the annual Riverfest.

Reidsville

Nestled in Rockingham County, the small city of Reidsville offers a rich historical background, with beautifully restored homes and buildings like the Governor Reid House and The Penn House. Colorful murals and unique brick sculptures dot the downtown area, depicting important events throughout Reidsville’s history. In addition to experiencing local history, locals can also enjoy entertainment in the downtown Market Square park and amphitheater, where concerts take place all spring and summer, in addition to the Farmers Market and annual celebrations in October.

Madison

In the small towns of Mayodan and Madison, you’ll find close-knit communities with beautiful green scenery, historic buildings and family-friendly activities. The 270-acre Farris Memorial Park in Mayodan features two baseball fields, two soccer fields, two fishing ponds and a new three mile mountain bike trail. Explore Mayo River State Park and Idol Park, or go kayaking on the beautiful Dan River. Madison’s Historic Downtown Shopping District offers numerous restaurants, craft shops and other unique businesses to locals and visitors.

Yanceyville

Yanceyville is a small town with a lot to offer – including art, outdoor experiences, museums, sports and more. The historic Bartlett Yancey House, built in 1810 and originally home to Congressman Bartlett Yancey, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Richmond-Miles History Museum displays artifacts from the town’s history and military memorabilia. Yanceyville Pavilion hosts concerts and musical events every year from May to September. Residents also enjoy the beautiful natural scenery at Caswell County Recreation Park and the Caswell Community Arboretum. For sports enthusiasts, the 156-acre, 18-hole Caswell Pines Golf Course is a premier destination with a unique combination of open expanses and secluded groves.

Archdale & Trinity

Located just south of High Point, the Archdale and Trinity communities are home to retirees, families, and young adults. With friendly faces around every turn and a robust schedule of events, there’s plenty to see and do in Archdale and Trinity. Creekside Park features walking trails, a disc golf course, tennis courts, basketball court, playgrounds and more. Adventurers and thrill-seekers will love Kersey Valley in Archdale, offering exciting activities year-round including an escape room, rock climbing, laser tag, high ropes course and zipline.

Thomasville

With big-city opportunities wrapped in small-town charm, Thomasville is a warm, inviting place for families. Enjoy locally sourced produce from the Thomasville Farmers Market and partake in outdoor activities at one of the town’s many local parks. Each year, Thomasville celebrates Everybody’s Day – North Carolina’s oldest festival that energizes the town with over 200 arts and food vendors. The annual Spring Daze celebration in Thomasville also delights residents with a variety of plant and flower vendors, lawn and garden accessories, arts and crafts, great music, food and kid’s activities. Go thrifting at the 11 Acre Flea Market or antique shopping downtown.

Lexington

Calling all foodies! Lexington is home to some seriously incredible eats – including the famous Lexington Barbecue – voted one of the nation’s top 10 best barbecue spots by USA Today, amongst other national rankings. With a suburban feel, there are plenty of annual happenings including fun festivals and events.
Outdoor experiences include golfing at the magnificent Lexington Golf Club, hiking at Boone’s Cave Park, fishing at Finch Park or having a picnic at Grimes Park. The Davidson County Historical Museum, housed in the Davidson County Courthouse, displays a permanent collection of artifacts representing Davidson County’s cultural history.

Troy

In Troy, you’ll feel right at home. On the edge of the Uwharrie Forest, this small residential town has a peaceful atmosphere with a vibrant main street marketplace at its core. Annual events include Troyfest, the “Big Foot” Barbecue Cook-Off, holiday tree lighting and other seasonal happenings. Due to its ideal location adjacent to the Uwharrie Forest, Troy is a very green town. Explore the great outdoors at our local parks and nature centers, including Densons Creek Park, Lowe Warner Memorial Park, Roy J. Maness Nature Preserve, Troy Nature Trail and others.

Asheboro

Families, young professionals and retirees enjoy Asheboro’s low cost of living, friendly neighbors and abundance of parks. The vibrant downtown community is home to unique shopping, local restaurants and a variety of art. Also located downtown is the historic Sunset Theatre – a great place to catch a movie or local concert. Locals love Four Saints Brewing Co. for its charm and unique Belgian brews, in addition to the fact that it is the only carbon-neutral brewery in North Carolina. The beautiful North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo – home to over 1,800 animals in addition to one of the nation’s largest collections of public art. Local parks Bicentennial Park and North Asheboro Park are ideal locations for residents to enjoy the community’s natural resources.

Danbury

About 20 miles north of Winston-Salem, the small town of Danbury serves as the county seat for Stokes County. Located right next to Hanging Rock State Park, there’s plenty to explore in this region. The 73-site campground at this state park, in addition to swimming areas, canoe rentals and more than 20 miles of hiking trails offer excitement during the summer months. Spectacular views alongside crystal-clear streams and waterfalls await hikers. Access to the Dan River for paddling, 8.4 miles of mountain biking trails and rock-climbing opportunities abound.

Pilot Mountain

Standing over 2,000 feet high, Pilot Mountain towers over Surry County as an enormous regional landmark. A 42-site campground, canoeing sites, rock climbing and rappelling, in addition to miles of hiking and biking trails await adventurers. The mountain’s summit features breathtaking views of the Sauratown Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains.

King

As the gateway to the foothills, King is a beautiful outdoor oasis within the two counties of Stokes and Forsyth. Here, you’ll find a strong sense of community and civic pride with a welcoming atmosphere. Local artisans and craftspeople exhibit their work at the Dan River Art Market, and locals enjoy running or playing sports at Recreation Acres Park. Meanwhile, the nearby Yadkin River offers pastoral scenery ranging from rocky cliffs to rolling hills throughout Stokes County. Access points along the river enable canoers, rafters and tubers to select the length of their trip.

Mount Airy

Hometown of beloved celebrity Andy Griffith, Mount Airy served as the inspiration for Mayberry in the hit television series, The Andy Griffith Show. This mountain town is also home to beautiful parks and greenways, arts and culture and interesting history. Visit the Museum of Regional History for a complete history of northwestern North Carolina to learn how these towns sprung up and grew to what they are today. The annual Mayberry Days festival pays homage to Andy Griffith with classic music and fun activities, in addition to the Andy Griffith Museum and Andy Griffith Playhouse.

Kernersville

You can count on Kernersville to be the community that has everything you could ask for – dining, shopping, and sights to see. On the weekends you could visit Downtown Kernersville for shopping at our local businesses, or take a historic tour at the Korner’s Folly. And for some outdoor adventure, visit one of our parks for a chance at fun for the whole family.

Burlington

Burlington, an affordable suburb of Greensboro, offers ease of access to major cities in the region while still maintaining the comfort of open spaces and small-town living. Cedarock Park offers six miles of hiking and equestrian trails, two disc golf courses with a total of 36 holes, a footgolf course, two fishing ponds, a historical farm restored to the late 1800s time period, a picturesque waterfall, canoe and kayak rentals, camping and more. Burlington City Park’s amusement area features a historic carousel, miniature trains and splash park that are all perfect activities for young children. Meanwhile, the Children’s Museum of Alamance County has both educational exhibits and fun interactive events.

High Point

In High Point, you’ll feel right at home. With great schools and a variety of arts and cultural experiences, High Point offers the perfect small-town feeling with access to larger city amenities. Winston-Salem

Known for its top-notch colleges and universities and great healthcare system, Winston-Salem offers great amenities for both young professionals and families with young children.
